Given some of the concerns I've expressed recently about the way S&S enjoys an undeserved (and really quite aggravating) reputation as the UK's 'journal of record', I'd like to try something different over the next few weeks, just to see how people react. Below is a list of the very latest UK cinema and home video releases, covering the week until Sunday, 15 October. This is everything on release, not merely the trimmings covered by S&S. The weekly list will be published every Monday going forward. If readers find it useful, I'll make it a permanent fixture.
Be aware that the review Index for S&S will end with the December 2017 listing. Working on this blog has served to highlight how many films have NOT been covered by the magazine, and the situation today is as bad as it has ever been, especially their serious avoidance of most home video releases. My subscription will be cancelled after the December issue and that will be the end of it. However, the Index to date will remain online for those who want to use it.
