The version reviewed by the MFB in April 1978 represented the first time this film had been made available to UK audiences in its original cut. It was first screened in British cinemas in 1962 as Tigress of Bengal (1958, May/1962), a bastardised print which combined footage from both films in this series - The Indian Tomb and The Tiger of Eschnapur (1958, below) - to create an entirely separate production.
