Grand National (Adults Only - London)
D: Henri-Georges Clouzot
The film's UK release was delayed by 'considerable censor trouble', as per the MFB, and the version reviewed in this issue had been passed by London's council with an Adults Only rating. It was finally 'approved' for general exhibition in 1951, when the BBFC awarded it an X certificate, apparently without cuts. How generous of them.
